A PLANNING application has been submitted to Ribble Valley Borough Council for the change of use of 126 and 128 Lowergate, previously used as a bakery, to class A1 (shops) and subdivision of the premises -together with 37-39 Moor Lane - into four separate units.
The Lowergate premises currently form the basement to the vacant shop in Moor Lane.

Comments on the scheme which will involve restoring 37-39 Moor Lane into two, two-storey separate shops and 126-128 Lowergate to two single storey shops with altered openings and enlargement of windows with decorative surrounds (numbers 0588 and 0589) must be made to the council by August 8th.

Other plans submitted include:
Clitheroe: Proposed starter units at Unit 10 Lincoln Way, together with extension to the boundary fence position (0591); construction of bedroom over existing ground floor extension and construction of detached garage to side of 63 Riverside (0468); proposed garage, porch and bedroom to side and front of Mordaunt House, Kirkmoor Road (0560); replace old wooden poles and lighting/wiring which has become a health and safety concern and also to save on electric and improve level of light on the green for 43 members at Church Meadows, Brownlow Street (0561).
