FANS of pop superstar Michael Jackson across Burnley, Pendle and the Ribble Valley are in shock today as news of his sudden death broke across the world.
Fans across Lancashire have been paying tribute to the legend and some have called for a lasting memorial to their idol, who was aged 50, in the UK.

Others who had tickets for his forthcoming UK comeback concert tour - due to begin on July 13th have been desperately trying to find out what will happen to their tickets and money.

Reports say paramedics were called to the singer's Beverly Hills home about noon yesterday after reeceiving an emergency call that he had had stopped breathing.

He was pronounced dead two hours later at the UCLA medical centre, despite extensive efforts to resuscitate him. Jackson's brother, Jermaine, said he was believed to have suffered a cardiac arrest.

Concerns were raised last month when four of Jackson's planned comeback concerts were postponed, but organisers insisted the dates had been moved due to the complexity of staging the show, not through health reasons.
