A BLUE ribbon event raised £3,800 for cold chain projects in Ethiopia.
Held at The Grand in Clitheroe, the charity fashion show was sponsored by local companies Melt, LuLu Browns, Posh U, Velvet, Paul Smith, Coco Moyo, The Flower Shop, Cheesie Tchaikovsky, Clitheroe Beauty and Kitchens, Renault.

As a result of the backing from the local businesses and the 120 guests, all proceeds raised will go to Unicef's cold chain projects which will enable vaccinations to be given out to some of the poorest children in the world.

Entertainment on the evening was provided by Bowland High School pupils who sang and danced.

Candles produced by Cheryl Hook, of Melt, were on sale during the evening. The sale of every £12 candle helps to immunise almost 200 children.

Clitheroe's Blue Ribbon Committee has now raised £60,000 towards its £100,000 target and has more fund-raising events planned for later this year – a "Hike for Humanity" is being planned for September, followed by a Christmas concert at The Grand on December 6th.
