Cook honoured for 25 years at Moorland
A COOK loved for her cakes and sponge puddings has been honoured for 25 years' service at a Clitheroe school.
Mrs Sheila Jones (55), of Kay Street, was awarded a gold watch by joint principals of Moorland School Mr Paul and Mrs Helen Smith.
"She has been a reliable, loyal and invaluable member of the catering team," said Mr Smith. "Sheila is a great cook and nothing is too much trouble."
He added that in today's world of job mobility, 25 years' service is a rarity, putting the longevity of service down to Mrs Jones' "lovely rapport with the children and staff" as well as her sense of humour.
Mr John and Mrs Janet Harrison, joint school principals from 1988 to 2002, also returned to help Mrs Jones celebrate
