CENTENARIAN Miss Ivy Walmsley celebrated her birthday with a nice cup of tea at Clitheroe Castle's new cafe.
Nieces Mary Taylor and Joan Blades organised the low-key celebration after Ivy said she didn't want any fuss.

Ivy, of High Brake House care home, Chatburn Road, Clitheroe, was congratulated by Ribble Valley Mayor Coun. Beverley Jones at the new cafe where she was presented with a bouquet of flowers.

Not content to let such a milestone birthday slip by unrecognised, around 30 family and friends also gathered for a party over the weekend during which Ivy was presented with a photograph of old Clitheroe, flowers and chocolates.

Ivy was also delighted to received a card from HM the Queen.
"Ivy didn't want any fuss, but we couldn't not do anything when she's 100!" Mary explained.
