PRIMARY school children in Whalley are hopping aboard a "walking bus".
Run every Monday morning by the local Neighbourhood Policing Team, pupils from Whalley Primary School board the walking school bus, which sets off from Calderstones Housing Estate, in Mitton Road.

The village's PCSO Jane Pearson said: "This is a great way of keeping the children healthy and active and gives the officers and children the chance to get to know each other.

"The walk was introduced following improvements made around the school, including a new zebra crossing, making walking to school a safe alternative to going in the car.

"We would encourage more parents in the area to 'come on board' and walk to school."

Anyone wanting further information about the walking bus, can contact the local Neighbourhood team on 01200 458766.
