BURNLEY surrender a lead to lose their opening pre-season match in America against Cary Railhawks.
Wade Elliott gave the Clarets the lead nine minutes into the second half, slotting under goalkeeper Akira Fitzgerald with his left foot after a lungbursting run from the right flank.
But the advantage lasted just three minutes, as Graham Alexander's mistake at the back let in Jack Szerlowski, who tucked the ball past Brian Jensen from close range.
And 12 minutes from time, Ty Lassiter thundered in a glorious winner for the hosts, with Jensen left flat-footed after a glorious curling effort with the outsider of the left foot from the left flank.
Owen Coyle decided against fielding any of his new signings from the off, with Christian Kalvenes, Martin Paterson, Remco van der Schaaf and Kevin McDonald all starting on the bench.
However, after a bright start from the hosts which saw Jensen make two good saves, McDonald was introduced midway through the first half for Chris McCann, who looked to have taken a knock as he headed straight for the tunnel.
Burnley failed to create any clear cut opportunities in the first half, with Ade Akinbiyi coming the closest with a neat back heel which was saved on the line.
However, his replacement at half-time, former Scunthorpe striker Paterson, had the game's best chance on 52 minutes, firing wide from seven yards after a neat flick from Robbie Blake.
However, within minutes, Elliott gave Burnley the lead, before Cary equalised through Szerlowski after good work from Corey Bone.
And the Railhawks completed the win when Lassiter flashed in a superb shot past a stranded Jensen late on.
