Leon Best had given Coventry a half-time lead, heading home a cross from Jordan Henderson after a mistake from Stephen Jordan, but Eagles rescued a point for the Clarets.
CLOCKWATCH
6 mins: Robbie Blake's corner is met by Steve Thompson at the back post, but his goalbound header is cleared from danger before the referee penalises the Clarets with a free kick.
8 mins: Wade Elliott's lungbursting run down the right ends with a cross which is just out of reach of the head of Martin Paterson.
11 mins: Coventry's first real effort on target is a long range free kick from Daniel Fox which is straight at Brian Jensen.
18 mins: Steve Thompson gets away a shot from the edge of the box, but his effort lacks power and is saved low to his right by Kieren Westwood.
26 mins: Chris McCann exchanges passes with Graham Alexander before embarking on a run which ends with a shot that strikes the hand of Stephen Wright, only for the referee to wave away the appeals for a free kick.
31 mins: Michael Doyle's shot from distance takes a wicked bounce in front of Brian Jensen, who does well to get a strong fist to the ball and palm it away to safety.
44 mins: GOAL!! Burnley somehow find themselves behind as, after a mistake from Stephen Jordan, Jordan Henderson gets to the byline before dinking a cross for Leon Best to head home. Burnley 0, Coventry 1.
Half-Time: Burnley 0, Coventry 1.
50 mins: Robbie Blake's neat play sets up Martin Paterson, whose curling effort stings the hands of Kieren Westwood before going out for a corner. Blake's flag kick is then met by Graham Alexander at the edge of the box, and after his shot is half blocked, Paterson can't force home the loose ball.
53 mins: Graham Alexander wins the ball in midfield, and after feeding Wade Elliott on the right, the resulting cross is met by Martin Paterson who heads over.
56 mins: Burnley's best chance of the night falls to Steven Thompson, who somehow shoots over when clean through after Robbie Blake's pass disects the defence.
61 mins: Robbie Blake's free kick from the right touchline is met by a scramble in the area, which Steven Thompson can't quite force over the line. From the resulting corner, Michael Duff's header is met by only half a hand from Kieren Westwood, but the ball is prevented from going over the line by a posse of bodies.
63 mins: Wade Elliott's cross looks like it only needs a tap from Martin Paterson to go over the line, but Scott Dann produces a fantastic challenge to deny the striker.
72 mins: Burnley's intent to go for an equaliser is clear as Owen Coyle makes a triple substitution, bringing on Chris Eagles, Jay Rodriguez and Kevin McDonald.
77 mins: Two of the substitutes make an immediate impression, wth Kevin McDonald feeding Chris Eagles on the left, and his cross only fails to reach Martin Paterson due to a great block from Ben Turner.
84 mins: Martin Patersn picks up a bouncing ball into the box, but fails to get enough power on his header as the ball goes straight into the hands of Kieren Westwood.
90 mins: GOAL!! Finally Burnley's pressure pays off, as Jay Rodriguez flicks the ball on for Chris Eagles, who advances into the area before flicking the ball past Kieren Westwood. Burnley 1, Coventry 1.
