BURNLEY stretch their winless run at home to eight games with defeat against Bristol City.
Robin s defender Tamas Vasko hit the only goal of the game midway through the second half, prodding home Michael McIndoe's free kick.

But in truth, Burnley dominated both in terms of possession and chances, as they once again failed to convert a plethora of opportunities.

Ade Akinbiyi was the main villain, hitting the post on no fewer than three separate occasions.

But as it was, Burnley remain without a victory at Turf Moor, not only since Owen Coyle's arrival as manager, but since the visit of Norwich back on October 23rd.

CLOCKWATCH

2 mins: Marvin Elliott's fierce drive from the edge of the box is spilt by Gabor Kiraly, but the Burnley defence clear the danger.

6 mins: Jamie McCombe's dipping shot looks set to be dropping in at the far post, only for Gabor Kiraly to produce a superb fingertip save to divert the ball away and prevent the visitors from taking an early lead.

15 mins: Kyle Lafferty ability to turn away from his marker in the heart of midfield ends with the Northern Ireland international powering a shot towards goal which Adriano Basso does well to tip round the post.

18 mins: Robbie Blake's chest pass releases Ade Akinbiyi on the right hand side of the area, and his shot across goal hits the base of the near post and is diverted to safety.

20 mins: David Unsworth's long ball from defence is chested down by Ade Akiniyi into the path of Wade Elliott, who fires just wide of the far post.

34 mins: Robbie Blake's corner is played back out to the wideman, and after he lays the ball off for Steve Jones, the substitute's low drive is just about held by Adriano Basso.

43 mins: Kyle Lafferty's ball into the box is headed up in the air by Ade Akinbiyi, but the big striker reads the flight of the ball and hits an effort which flicks out of play off the base of the post.

45 mins +1: David Noble bears down on the Burnley goal, and as the Clarets back off him, his low drive flashed just wide of the post.

Half-Time: Burnley 0-0 Bristol City.

46 mins: Steve Jones' burst of pace gets him to the byline, but his cross somehow evades both Robbie Blake and Kyle Lafferty and is cleared to safety.

59 mins: Jon Harley's long range shot is saved by Adriano Basso, and even though Ade Akinbiyi picks up the rebound on the byline, his turn and shot goes into the side netting.

67 mins: GOAL!! Michael McIndoe's free kick from the corner of the box flicks off the head of a Burnley defender to Tamas Vasko, who prods the ball into the corner past Gabor Kiraly. Burnley 0-1 Bristol City.

69 mins: Ade Akinbiyi shrugs off the challenge of Jamie McCombe in the box, but for the third time in the match, sees his low effort come off the base of the post.
